I picked this up from Kris years and years ago. When someone does something or behaves in the way that is reminiscent of another person, out comes "The part of."
It comes from the standard line, "The part of _____ will be played by _____ in tonight's performance," which is announced before a play or musical when a published performer will not actually be performing that evening.
