Death by a Thousand Cuts

Blog

I have a message sitting in my text messages unread. It's been there for a day. I've messaged enough other people that I need to scroll to see the unread message, which means I won't accidentally read it. More so that I'm not scrolling to see it.

What do you do when you reach out time and time again, only to be rejected each time?

At what point do you give up? At what point do you realize the cut count is approaching unbearable? At what point do you become angry and think no. fucking. more?

Empirical evidence suggests at one fewer message than that unread one.
