Teleporting colors
Our bedroom is painted blue. Our guest room is painted yellow (yay!). Our bathroom is painted green. I'm running out of colors to paint the next room, which will be either the bathroom or the office, probably the office. I was trying to figure out what color to choose next, unable to decide, when I asked Kris as we were walking this morning.
Blue? Green? Maybe tan? How about purple or orange?
No, no, not purple. If it's purple, Kris let me know, I'd hate going in there. Nah, I responded, I'll love any color I paint the room. How about orange?
No, he said, not orange. Blue is fine.
Blue, eh? How about one wall blue, the other wall orange? If you wall really fast, you can end up in the bathroom. Whoo! But don't run crossways, else you'll end up in the guest room!
We bantered about our Portal walls for a while, when Kris asked if I was going to try to make the 9:54 train back to Sunnyvale. "Considering the train arrives in one minute, probably not," which prompted the conversation to switch to teleporting.
Kris commented how cool would teleporting be, you could just be at the train station now. No, no, no, I responded, you can't do that. If you teleport that far away, you might teleport into someone or something else. And that would kill you. You want to teleport only within line of sight.
I was intent when I made this comment, as if this was the most important statement of fact I could make pertaining to teleportation. "Only punk-ass kids teleport without seeing the destination first."
And daredevils.
Orange daredevils. Time to pick out the office colors.
